Bees aren't just honey-makers, they're crucial to the human race. Why? They help pollenate our plants, and let's not forget plants are responsible for 93% of our food.
Still think bees are unimportant?

The Life Cycle of Bees

Bees have a 4 stage life cycle:

Egg

The queen will lay tiny, soft white eggs in the comb in the hive.  This egg stage will take place on days 1-3 of the life cycle.

Larva

At approximately day 3 the eggs will hatch into a larva.  The larvae are fed on a substance produced by the nurse bees.  This is called bee milk or royal jelly.

Pupa

In the cocoon, the larva turns into a pupa. It has developed eyes and wings and has started to look more like a bee. This stage occurs from day 10 through to day 23, depending on the type of bee it will become.

Adult

This is the final stage in a bee's complete metamorphosis. It is full grown. The bee chews its way out of the cell. It becomes an adult on day 16 through to day 24, depending on what type of bee it is.
